Jett's 1st Educational Trip - Tagaytay
This is Jett's first ever educational excursion in school, so we definitely got excited about it.
There was a total of 4 buses on the said trip, comprising of all the students of Power Kids Academy. I brought along my niece Patrica as an accompany. The call time was 6am, but as expected, we headed out at 7am. And thanks to the rush hour congestion of Metro road, we reached our first stop of the day, the Flower Farm, at nearly 11 noon already.
We had our lunch in People's Park. We could have gone horsing, but the weather didn't permit us to do such, coz it poured. GORING's visit is really bad in timing. The whole trip was drizzly so we always have to bring our umbrellas with us to avoid getting wet. Sayang, coz I know Jett as well as the other kids, will surely have fun riding a horse sana. After lunch, we proceeded to Mahogany Market and I bought some beef for steak. This market is well known for its fresh and marked down price of beef. And for our last itinerary of the day, we moved to the one of the most famous landmarks of Tagaytay, the Marcos' Palace In The Sky. However, due to the storm, it was really misty up there, and didn't enjoy the downland scenery. The view was enveloped with thick fog. All we did was to took advantage of the place, and had our snapshots.
To wrap up this journey, I bargained for few pasalubongs and souvenirs. Strawberry jam, lengua de gato, pineapples, etc. A t-shirt with Tagaytay print for me and Patricia, and a very cute white bonnet for Jett, also named Tagaytay.
The traffic on the road back home was okay. We left Tagaytay proper past 6pm, and arrived Marilao at 8 in the evening.
I didn't find this voyage taxing. It was rather rewarding to meet the other parents and Jett's classmates, and how they developed that innocent camaraderie they have for each other. I also feel good to see the kids' affection for their teachers. It's cute everytime the teachers ask for a smack from the baby schoolers (pre-schooler).
On top of that, I'm more than happy to spend some time with my elder son. It's been a while since we last had moments together alone. It is priceless!
Promulgation
I'm pretty nervous on what will take place tomorrow on the promulgation of plunder case against the deposed President Estrada. Whatever will happen, one thing is for sure, it will make an impact to our local stock market investments, and this is the more anxious part for me, coz we do have. The market nowadays is kinda embattle due to the slowdown of US economy. Their jobless data announcement yesterday for August was surprising which hurts their market strongly, and I think one of the domino effects is what the economists called the sub-prime crisis, or many Americans can no longer pay their housing mortgages which is of course bad for the economy. Which is now the world market's problem (except for China, they have a very strong economy right now), including emerging countries like ours. Everytime the US sneezes, the whole world catch colds, and that explain why. Oh well, so much with these economic talks, they give me a headache :) .
Back to Estrada. Whatever the verdict will be, I just hope that we accept it to the widest of our understanding, especially to the former president's supporters. I think, this country is toooooo exhausted to handle another Edsa III or Mayo Uno (2001) chaos. I mean, if that will happen again (knock on wood), it will take another tedious process of healing the wounds and the divisiveness of people from different walks of life. And for the sake of our country, that is the last option that we need right now. A 7.5% GDP growth is a sign that our nation is not a hopeless case. Let us take our chances. Let us help our nation to take off, this is a group effort. So I hope some people will not only think of their vested political interests, and will not use this opportunity to flame-up the sensitivity of the issue.
Tomorrow will mark another chapter to our history. Jett and Jedd will read tomorrow's news on their history textbooks. In my heart, I hope that they will read a "just and peaceful" acceptance of President Estrada's judgment. Let us make them proud this time. I hope.
Jett's Close Encounter w/his Dentist
I'm so proud of you Sweety! You can now sit on the dental chair without Mum! You used to tag me along on that chair at every meeting you have with your dentist (but at home, he keeps on asking me when to go to the dentist, hehe).
When Dr. Giron asked you to be seated, I could tell that you hesitated a bit, but as you saw your fave mouthwash to be gargled on the small sink next to the chair, you loosen up right away, and quickly sat down.
Your dentist was so proud of you as well. He was delighted to see your grown-up ways, how much you had fun while you were having your teeth cleaned, and most of all, your complete and unruptured pearly whites! Thanks to the sealants he finally completed to put in your molars (his last two sets of molars came out recently). Now, they are 100% shielded from tartars and will never be damaged until your permanent molars come in. An "investment" if I may put Dr. Giron's word into mine.
At the end of the session, you got your price. A winnie the pooh sticker on your fist! Hahaha! In line with this, let me thank Jett's (and my husband's) dentist, Dr. Giron, for taking care of Jett's teeth since he was two years old. I could see that he has a very healthy set of teeth.
Because of that, we are more than happy to lieu that very loooong line on the 11th floor of pink building in St. Lukes, just to have an appointment with you, hehehe!
